Refund policy
At Koto Blades, your satisfaction is our priority. However, we also strive to protect our business and ensure fairness in our policies. Please read the following carefully to understand our return, refund, and cancellation policies.
Returns and Refunds
We offer a strict 30-day return policy from the date of delivery. Returns are only eligible in specific cases where the item is unused, in its original condition, and in the original packaging. To minimize the chances of fraudulent claims, the following conditions apply:
Eligibility for Returns:
- Items must be in brand-new, unused, and unopened condition, with original packaging and proof of purchase.
- Returns are only accepted if Koto Blades has made an error (e.g., wrong item shipped, defective product caused by manufacturing).
- Custom or personalized orders, including engraved blades, are non-refundable.
How to Start a Return:
- Contact us at support@kotoblades.com with your order number and details of the issue.
- You must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before shipping the product back. Returns without an RMA will not be accepted.
- For claims related to damage, clear photos or videos of the item AND its packaging upon opening are mandatory. These must accompany your claim to be reviewed.
Return Shipping Costs:
- Return shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer unless the issue is due to a mistake on our part (e.g., wrong item sent or manufacturing defect).
- We recommend using a trackable shipping service for returns valued at $75 or more.
Damaged or Defective Items
If your order arrives damaged or defective, please follow these steps:
- Inspect your order upon delivery.
- Contact us within 30 calendar days of delivery with:
- Clear photos or videos of the damage, including the packaging.
- Proof of purchase and the order number.
- Once your claim is verified, we will either:
- Replace the defective or damaged item.
- Offer a store credit for future use.
Note: Claims without photo or video evidence of damage will not be processed.
Order Cancellations
- Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of placing the order.
- Due to our fast processing times, cancellations are not possible once the order is processed or shipped.
- If an order cannot be canceled, you may follow the return policy for eligible items.
Refund Policy
Refunds are only issued for items eligible under the return or damage policy. Refunds will not be issued for:
- Shipping fees (non-refundable once paid).
- Items that are opened, used, or not in resellable condition.
- Orders returned without a valid RMA or proper documentation.
Refund Process:
- Upon receiving your return, we will inspect the item within 7 business days.
- If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
- Refunds typically take 3–10 business days to reflect, depending on your bank.
Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective, damaged, or incorrectly shipped. Exchanges for reasons other than Koto Blades' error are not accepted. Please follow the return process to initiate an exchange.
Non-Returnable Items
- Custom or engraved items.
- Final sale or clearance items.
- Damaged items caused by customer misuse or handling.
Lost or Undelivered Packages
If your package is marked as delivered but you have not received it:
- Contact us within 30 days of the delivery date to submit a claim.
- We will work with the courier to investigate the issue and, if deemed lost, we will provide a replacement.
Customs & Duties
Koto Blades is not responsible for any customs or import duties. Customers are responsible for paying any additional charges incurred during international shipping. Failure to pay these fees will result in a deduction of $80 for two-way shipping costs, as well as a 20% restocking fee.
